Pumping Iron – Oh the images that word provokes. The first bodybuilding movie I saw was Steve Reeve’s Hercules, followed by all the other Hercules flicks. Yet it was not until, “Pumping Iron,” did I become a gym rat, or a gym rat in desire, if not exactly in body.
That was back in late 70′s, and with Arnold’s seminal classic, “Education of a Bodybuilder,” I feel in love with the pump. After a hard workout, with my body swollen with blood, unable to bend my arms more than 90 degrees, pecs sticking out a 3 inches from my torso, lats flaring – I was biggest 5’5″, 135lb kid in the world. So reality didn’t exactly match my perception – sue me - I was dreaming of Larry Scott’s 20 inch arms where my outrageously pumped 12 inch arms were.
So, this page is devoted to giving you ideas and resources as you embark on your search for the perfect pump. We’ll take about exercises, schemes, equipment and whatever else it takes to make your muscle dreams a reality. Where appropriate, I’ll include videos, diagrams, and pictures to help clarify a point or two.
